So, what is the best pizza temperature if you’re in a mood for a home cooked pizza? I’ll discuss it below.
I always like to bake for myself and my loved ones a home made pizza. It’s easy to make, always versatile and cheap – using whatever I have in my pantry and fridge at the moment.
Starting from scratch, making my own pizza dough and all.

Temperature For Home Cooked Pizza
Pizza is usually baked at high temperatures. For a domestic oven, as high as you can get.
If you have a fun assisted oven, turn it on. It will increase the temperature as many domestic ovens are restricted to up to 500F (250C).
I bake my pizzas in a preheated oven at 475F (220C), on middle or top rack – depending on how much topping I add. I like a good quantity. 😀

Preheat oven
Always preheat your oven before baking anything, not just pizza. Turn on your oven before you start rolling the pizza dough.

How long do you cook a pizza in the oven?
I bake my pizza for about 10-12 minutes.
You should keep your eyes on it. After 8 minutes it starts to lightly brown and all the cheese to melt and distribute around.
If you try my pizza dough recipe (which I highly recommend), 12 minutes max are more than enough for a completely cooked and crispy pizza.
How to cook frozen pizza?
Usually, frozen pizza has baking instruction for you to follow. Just remove all the packaging, allow to defrost and place it on the middle rack of the preheated oven.
Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
